FieldInsight Feature Release — Week 18 2026
Feature update for FieldInsight — what’s new in Week 18 2026. Here’s everything shipped to the platform this week.
New AI Toolset & Relevant Costs
What’s New
We have implemented a OCR/Document parsing AI toolset that allows for a scan and import of line items on Supplier Bills. This feature is usage based and the costs are variable but find an indication of how the charges are calculated.
Our AI document scanning is charged based on the amount of text the AI needs to read and the amount of information it produces. On average, each document uses around 2,000 input tokens and 400 output tokens. Based on the current AI rates, this works out to approximately $0.28 per document. For example, scanning 100 documents would cost around $28, and scanning 200 documents would cost around $56.
Explanation: What is an AI Token
Why it helps
Introducing AI parsing allows for faster generation of Supplier bills to apply to Jobs or Projects. It increases the accuracy as the AI reads all lines items and we can match these to Open PO’s and receipt items to PO in the same process.
Supplier Code Mapping for Inventory Items
What’s new
- New “Supplier Pricing” tab on products lets you map supplier-specific codes to your inventory items
- When importing bills using AI, the system automatically matches line items using supplier codes
- Supplier code field now available on bills to show the original code from supplier invoices
Why it helps
Suppliers often use different product codes than your own inventory system. This feature automatically matches items during bill import, saving you from manually looking up and entering each product — especially useful when processing invoices from multiple suppliers.
AI Bill Import Now Supports Images
What’s new
- Upload PNG and JPEG images directly for AI bill import, not just PDFs
- Progress indicator now shows during AI import processing
Why it helps
You can now snap a photo of a supplier invoice with your phone and import it directly into FieldInsight, making it faster to capture and process bills while on site.
Timesheet Export Progress Indicator
What’s new
- Progress bar now displays during timesheet exports showing completion status
Why it helps
For businesses with large amounts of timesheet data, you can now see exactly how far along your export is instead of wondering if the system is still working.
Sticky Billable Items and Documents on Jobs
What’s new
- Billable items section on jobs now stays visible as you scroll
- Documents section also stays sticky for easier reference
Why it helps
When working on longer job records, you can keep your billable items or documents in view while scrolling through other job details, reducing the need to scroll back and forth.
Fire Safety Report Columns
What’s new
- New “Critical Defect” column added to safety measure book reports
- New “Rectification Date” column added to safety measure book reports
Why it helps
Fire safety contractors can now track critical defects and their rectification dates directly in compliance reports, improving documentation for audits and customer records.
Activity Type on Mobile Weekly Timesheets
What’s new
- Activity type field now available in the mobile weekly timesheet section
Why it helps
Field workers can now categorise their time entries by activity type directly from their mobile device, giving you better visibility into how labour hours are being spent across different work categories.
Title Column on Mobile Document List
What’s new
- New title column available in the mobile sales document list view
Why it helps
Your team can now see document titles at a glance when browsing quotes, invoices, or other sales documents on mobile, making it easier to find the right document quickly.
Defect Status Column in Detailed Timesheets
What’s new
- Defect status column now available in detailed timesheet reports
Why it helps
When reviewing timesheets, you can now see the status of any associated defects, helping you track whether work on defect rectification has been completed.
Active Filter for Multi-Choice Custom Fields
What’s new
- Filter by “is active” option now available for multi-choice custom field values
Why it helps
You can now hide inactive options from dropdown lists while keeping historical data intact, keeping your forms clean and reducing selection errors.
Project Claims by Budget Stage
What’s new
- New “Budget Stage” option when setting up project claims
- Create progress claims based on project stages with percentage completion
- Retention calculations supported on stage-based claims
Why it helps
Construction and project-based businesses can now invoice clients based on project stages rather than just jobs or tasks, making it easier to manage progress claims on larger projects with defined milestones.

Quick-Add Buttons on Project Pages
What’s new
- New shortcut buttons on project pages to quickly create quotes, variations, invoices, purchase orders, and bills
